This month at FWAB, the lovely Sonia is hosting a winter challenge. All you have to do is use a winter-based photo and use any FWAB product! Then, upload it to the FWAB gallery! How easy is that? And the winner of the challenge will receive this fabulous prize pack:
Of course, only the photo has to be winter-based, but I have all this wonderful Bo Bunny winter paper from three different lines, and I wanted to use it:
I love it when layouts practically put themselves together- this one only took about two hours. Lots of layering and coloring on this one! The bottom paper is from the Kasiercraft Timeless like with with a script. I inked the edges of it with Dusty Concord Distress Stain. You can only see it poking out through the tears, but it works; you can also see the Dusty Attic Snowflakes in there, and they have FWAB purple pearls from the I also used that ink for the next layer after running it through my beloved Distrezz-it-All, which is from the Bo Bunny Snowy Serenade line. I used Pink Paislee Mistables paper for the next layer. I punched it , then misted it with Moonlight Blue and Juneberry Wine Glimmer Mists. I love how it curled the paper- it's a thick paper, so when it curls on the edges, it creates such perfect dimension. (And's here's a tip for that curly paper that you get from mists: use a liquid adhesive on the back, and take a brayer to it to flatten the middle well for layering.)
The next layer is also from that Bo Bunny Serenade line- it's the die cut paper- I just cut out the smaller artisan shape, then distressed it. Next, I used some snowflake Glimmer Screens with Dusty Concord and Tumbled Glass Distress inks with the blending tool. I finished up that layer by adding some old lace around the edges.
Next, I added the smaller layers: I started with two banner strips I cut from the Bo Bunny Winter Whispers line, added a distressed cardstock ring, and a mat from the Bo Bunny Winter Joy line, and to that my photo. I took this a few years ago when it snowed in Las Vegas! It's one of my faves of my daughter. Lots of editing on that pic.
Embellishment time! First, I added some purple ribbon with fibers at the bottom of the page. And then the best part: adding the FWAB Bling to the corner. I used the Chloe Pearl Flourish (in pearl), then I cut up pieces of Kate's Corner Flourish (in silver) to add some "icy-ness" to the swirls. I topped of the flourishes with Prima flowers that I dabbed with gesso, and some Dusty Attic snowflakes that I treated with gesso and Fairy Dust Glitter from Clearsnap.
I finished off the layout by adding the title using Basic Grey stickers, and added some Maya Road chipboard wings to the photo that I painted with gesso and dipped in Diamond Dust.
Let us at FWAB see what you can come up with for this challenge, and post your gorgeous creation HERE! We can't wait to see what you make!!!!!
