Altered Jar for Bad Girls Couture

Today I'm sharing an altered jar using the October Bad Girls Couture scrapbook kit, Roadside Thrift Shoppe, which is available HERE. This month, our design team challenge was to use the Prima Marketing moulds and paper clay that came in the kit.

I LOVE the Prima moulds, and these borders are just THE BEST! They are so versatile and add so much to any project. Here's what I came up with:

I started out with a plain Mason jar, and sprayed it with white gesso to give the moulds some "tooth" to stick to the jar. Once dry, I made my moulds and glued them. I used two of the borders from the mould- the thicker one with an oval design for the top, and one of the thinner ones for the bottom.

I also used some of the paper clay in a heart mould I have in my supplies.
Once dry, I added some gel medium and art stones to the moulds where they had shrunk to give a "plastered" look.
Then, I painted the jar. I used the Tattered Angels paints that came in the kit: High Impact paint in Ivory and the gold Glitter Glam.

I painted the heart blue for contrast, and then I added some metallic wax to the entire jar to highlight the  texture.

Thanks for checking out my project today! Be sure to go the Bad Girls Couture Blog to see what the rest of the team made with the mould and clay!
