FWAB February Projects

Hello, all. I've been super sick with pneumonia, so I haven't had a chance to post my projects I made this month with fabulous Flourish with a Bling products. By the way, FWAB is now selling their products directly to you on their website! Check it out RIGHT HERE. Awesome news, right??

So, being sick, I did some double and triple duty this month to get these projects done. Here's the first one:

"Hey You" Card

Every month on the Swirlydoos Kit Club forums, we have a Round Robin Card Challenge, and it's one of my favorite challenges. This is my submission. My week was week three, so two very talented ladies "went before me" and this is my adaptation of Patty's and Steph's cards. The twists were that the card could not be square, and we had a color palette to work with also.

I knew that the beautiful Elise Flourish was perfect for the color palette, and wanted to brighten the card up with the fabulous FWAB teal pearls. Here's what they look like in the package:

"My Sweets" Layout

Okay, so this one is doing triple duty. I'm also using this layout for the sketch challenge at Swirlydoos, and also for the Groundhog Day Challenge there- the idea is to take an old layout that you think could use a re-do, and make it better.

I used the FWAB Latte pearls to accent the flourishes on the paper, and also on the lace. And, one of my favorite ways to use the flourishes- popping out from under flowers and vines- I LOVE that look. I used the Grace flourish in chocolate.

Thanks for having a peek!

Oh my word, this kit is gorgeous! We were lucky enough to get ALL of the papers in the Graphic 45 "Place in Time" collection, and a ton of embellies to go with. This month's kit is a SMOKIN' DEAL. If you aren't a subscriber yet (WHAAAAAAAAT?), there just MIGHT be one left in the store, and if you are really lucky, there might even be some add-ons, especially the awesome technique kit this month! So, go check the Swirlydoos boutique now!

Here it is:

March Calendar Wall Decor

I have had the best time delving into this kit- I have sooooo many more projects I want to do too. I decided to start out with the main kit by creating a calendar for the month of March. I am going to do a wall hanging for each month, and I'm all set for next month. This is what I came up with:

I started out with a piece of circle cardboard I salvaged from a DiGiorno's frozen pizza- they are the perfect size! Then I prepped it by exposing the edges, using some purple gelato, and Tattered Angels Olive Vine. Of course, most of it is covered up, but it looks so nice as an accent around the edges, which are easier to see in real life, of course!

I then took a piece of the purple Core'Dinations cardstock from the cardstock add-on, and the "March" paper and traced the cardboard circle and cut them out. I distressed them both with the Prima Distress Tool, after inking them with distress and chalk inks. As my base, them added my goodies.

"The Story of Us" Mini Album

Nearly every time I am on Pinterest, I run across this quote, and I think it's perfect. I don't know where it came from, but it's so heartfelt, and I wanted to make a project using it. Here it is:
"First, we had each other. Then we had you. Now we have everything."
Isn't that just the sweetest? Well, I thought so, and that was the inspiration for my mini album that I created using this month's technique kit. I wanted to put pictures in there, but I will have to do that soon.

I used a lot of things from this month's kit and add-ons, and a number of things from my stash to give it a completed look.

You can check out my video where I show you three main techniques I used on my mini that include: using the TA paint system to create a faux leather cover, a inking/misting technique for chipboard, and creating a shabby chic cardboard piece to tear and use for layering in the album.
