Fabulous Contest at Swirlydoos!

Check this out:

Seriously, this is soooo awesome! If you would love to win a spot on the Swirlydoos Design Team, this is your chance!

Grungy Tags with Flourish with a Bling

Last month, I had the opportunity to work with Gelatos with Faber-Castell, and I came up with a way to use them mixed with Smooch Spritz. I used a whole pack of the Ranger manilla tags just playing to perfect the technique. You can see exactly how I made the background in this video tutorial I made for Swirlydoos Kit Club:

So, these tags have been sitting on my scrap table, and I just can't stop making them! And, it was a nice break from all the Christmas tags! Here are two tags that made using the fabulous Grace Pearl flourishes:
For this tag, I added a small doily, then the beautiful teal Grace Pearl flourish from FWAB. I cut up the flourish to fit the way I wanted it to fit on the tag, then added this beautiful Prima flower that I have had for years. And, it just makes me laugh because I keep saying that I am so done with the peach and blue color combo that has been so popular this year, but I keep using it.
For this tag, I used another FWAB Grace Pearl Flourish, this time in Copper, which is perfect with the rest of the colors on the tag. I used the same background as the first tag, but I covered it with some polka dot paper  for added dimension.

Thanks for having a look. If you would like more information on the wonderful flourishes, click here!

Have a great day!

Take a look at the wonderful Believe kit:

This kit, like all of the others is amazing! It's been so great to work with it this month! "Believe" is certain to be perfect for all of your holiday projects. It features the newest, most elegant collections by Kaisercraft, and other classically gorgeous embellishments! You haven't subscribed to Swirlydoos yet, there just MIGHT be a few of the kits left in the store, but I doubt they will be there for long!

Believe Layout

I've been waiting all year to scrap this pic I took of my son last year! Good pics of him are few and far between! I jumped right into this kit to get it scrapped. I kept the design as basic as it gets for me because the picture is quite busy with color. I tried to pull out all of the colors and add splashes of red. The lace, alphas, and pearls are from my stash.

Magic Gift Boxes

I got the idea for these gift boxes from Leah Killian's blog, and she graciously allowed me to borrow her idea! I have adapted her design into a shorter box with room for a gift card and holiday treats, perfect for teachers, co-workers, and neighbors alike! They are SUPER easy to make and a blast to embellish! If you'd like to see how I made these boxes, along with the white snowflakes with casting resin and stamps, be sure to check out my video on YouTube. NOTE: it is long, because I am showing how to make the resin snowflakes, and giving you a list of things of what not to do with the products, so you don't waste yours like I did with a lot of mine. And, there are step by step instructions on how to make the box.

Here are close ups of the three gift boxes:
