"Prima Goes Inky" Class Project with Finnabair

Oh, I feel soooooooooo lucky to have attended Anna Dabrowska's "Prima Goes Inky" class in Chino, CA last week! That woman is a mixed media GODDESS! And, she's also such a doll. I learned so much from Anna, but what I will take away from the class is how to think differently about scrapbooking: both the process of creating, and also how to use embellishments in a multitude of ways.

The class involved making a journal. It was amazing at how fast time went by: it took almost 5 hours just to create the cover! Here how mine turned out:

FRONT:
I have been trying to get good pics of this for days! The lightbox gave me the best image, but it just doesn't reflect the colors and dimension accurately!
About making this: My friend Krissy has taken one of Anna's classes before, and she gave sound advice when she said to start making a trinket box full of metal embellishments, and I'm glad I had a lot of little things of my own to add to the cover of the journal. We did get some really nice Prima embellies though.
It's so funny- before class started, I saw people taking things out of the class kits, and one thing I noticed was that everyone canvas words like, "journey", "art", "create", and "dream". I was SOOOO hoping for "dream", but I got "create" instead. It wasn't all bad, though- I decided just to spell my name! I painted them with white Distress Stain, added rhinestones to the letters after I got home to accent them- they weren't visible enough for me.
Here's a closeup:
You can see that I out some small paper roses on there- I wouldn't use those again- they don't hold up as well as fabric and metal. I love the colors on here!

BACK COVER:

If you ever get the chance, take a class from Anna- it will be a wonderful experience for you!

The day went by so fast Rae and I didn't get to spend much time with you but it was a pleasure to finally meet you. I'm still reeling over all that we learned on that day and it's only been a week! Your cover turned out fantastically, I love the attention to detail you put into it...so very worth it. Are you going to do another? ;) ;)
